How to have your data removed from WhatsApp Commerce, whether you run a business account or you messaged a business that uses it.
This page explains how to have your data deleted from WhatsApp Commerce. It applies to two groups: Business Customers who have a WhatsApp Commerce workspace, and customers of a business whose WhatsApp conversations, contact details or orders are stored in a business's workspace.
You can delete records yourself from your workspace: contacts, conversations, products and orders can be removed from their pages, and disconnecting your WhatsApp number in Settings deletes the stored encrypted access credentials immediately.
To delete your whole workspace and account, email privacy@whatsappcommerce.in from the email address on the account with the subject "Delete my WhatsApp Commerce account", and tell us the business name. We confirm your identity by replying to that address.
The business you contacted controls your conversation and order records. Ask the business to delete your data, and it can do so from its workspace. You can also email privacy@whatsappcommerce.in with the subject "Delete my data", the WhatsApp number you used, and the business you messaged. We will verify the request and pass it to the business or delete it directly.
Sending STOP in the chat ends promotional messages immediately. It does not delete your data; use one of the routes above for that.
We receive only the basic profile details needed to sign you in (name and email) and, for Meta business connections, the identifiers of the WhatsApp Business Account and phone number you choose. Deleting your account removes this data from WhatsApp Commerce. To revoke access from Facebook's side, open Facebook Settings → Business Integrations, find "Ecommerce_bot", and remove it. Removing it stops any further access; email us to also delete data already stored.
We complete verified requests within 30 days. Deleted data includes profile, contacts, conversations, media, orders and stored credentials associated with the request. We may keep limited records where the law requires, such as tax invoices and payment records, and short-lived encrypted backups that are overwritten on our normal schedule. We tell you when the request is complete.
